Bumper Class Gears Pack

A comprehensive set of gears, essential for exploring mechanical principles in D&T education.

Overview

Features gears with 10 to 60 teeth, gear racks, and steel axles, enabling a broad range of educational demonstrations.

This gear set is an invaluable resource for teaching mechanical principles in design and technology. With a variety of gears featuring 10 to 60 teeth, gear racks, and steel axles, it allows children to explore the operation of gears and understand the impact of different sizes and teeth counts on power and speed.

Suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2, the set supports curriculum goals by enabling students to investigate and understand mechanical systems like gears. It enhances student engagement through hands-on experiments that are both educational and enjoyable.
Made from high-quality plastic, this gear set is designed for durability in classroom settings. The inclusion of diverse mechanical components aids in constructing a wide array of projects which demonstrates practical applications of theoretical concepts learnt.

Supports the National Curriculum

Design & Technology, Key Stage 2, Technical Knowledge

Understand and use mechanical systems in their products (for example, gears, pulleys, cams, levers and linkages).

Science, Year 5, Forces

Recognise that some mechanisms including levers, pulleys and gears allow a smaller force to have a greater effect.
