Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Colour Versatility: The torch offers multiple colour settings to effectively demonstrate colour mixing.
Shadow Exploration: Children can utilise the torch to explore how light sources impact shadow sizes. This hands-on activity supports Year 3 science objectives and enhances their understanding of light interactions.
Shape Understanding: The torch allows children to practically observe why shadows reflect the shape of objects. Using the torch, they can learn this concept through demonstration, aligning with Year 6 science topics.
Engaging Learning: Active participation is key in science lessons. The torch’s interactive nature allows children to manipulate light and observe outcomes, deepening their understanding of scientific concepts.
Year 3 Science Focus: Understanding shadow formation is essential in Year 3 science. This torch clearly demonstrates how light is blocked by opaque objects, serving as an effective visual aid.

Colour changing, rechargeable, handheld LED torches, complete with charging hub.

Enhance understanding of light with a torch that changes colour, aiding in shadow exploration and pattern recognition.

New and improved, the torches include a colour changing feature, enabling them to be easily switched between white, red, green and blue lights as well as featuring LEDs that maintain brightness for up to 3.5 hours.
Ergonomically designed for small hands and with a self-stabilising design to avoid rolling, these torches offer a practical, engaging way to explore light and colour mixing. Each torch features 1 LED to ensure crisp shadow making and the option of 4 different coloured lights for colour mixing experiments. The wooden charging hub ensures the torches are easily organised and charged, ready for learning anytime.
The torches facilitate hands-on learning about light’s properties and behaviour, helping to explain concepts like how light travels, shadows and how we see objects. They are impactful for engaging students in science principles actively. Additionally, the torches are excellent for sensory play, aiding in the development of fine motor skills and scientific understanding. Their design, featuring a large on/off switch, enables children to operate them easily, promoting independence and curiosity in scientific exploration.

In Year 3 science, children can use the torch to observe patterns in shadow sizes. By manipulating the torch, they see directly how the light source affects shadow dimensions, enhancing their understanding through active participation.
In Year 6, the torch helps explain why shadows mirror the shape of objects. As children observe light travelling in straight lines, they comprehend why shadows replicate the outline of their source, meeting curriculum objectives.
