Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Real Life STEM Challenges: The series includes real-life STEM challenges that engage children in practical activities. These challenges help children understand scientific concepts through hands-on learning.
Inquiry Approach: The child-friendly inquiry approach encourages the child to ask questions, experiment, and learn from their designs. This method fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Hands-On Focus: The books emphasise hands-on learning, allowing children to experiment with forces, motion, energy, and buoyancy. This practical focus enhances their understanding of scientific principles.
Supports Scientific Methods: Aligned with the Key Stage One curriculum, the books teach children to use practical scientific methods and perform simple tests, reinforcing their learning through real-world applications.
Practical Enquiries: For Lower Key Stage Two, the series guides children in setting up simple practical enquiries and fair tests. This supports the curriculum aim of developing essential scientific skills.

A series offering Key Stage 1 readers STEM challenges in towers, boats, bridges, and marble runs.

The books teach concepts like forces, motion, and buoyancy, encouraging children to experiment and learn from their designs.

Enhance inquiry-based learning in your classroom with these books. They provide real-life STEM challenges and hands-on activities, making learning both fun and engaging. Children grasp complex concepts through experimentation, reinforcing principles like forces, motion, energy, and buoyancy.

For Key Stage 1, the books encourage practical scientific methods and simple tests, supporting the ‘Working Scientifically’ curriculum. Activities such as building towers and bridges help children understand stability and strength.
In Lower Key Stage 2, the series continues to support practical enquiries and fair tests. Projects like designing boats and marble runs allow children to explore buoyancy and energy transfer, deepening their understanding by applying scientific theories in real scenarios.
