TTS Iron Age Jewellery Collection 6pk Best

Overview

• Use these Celtic-inspired pieces as the start of a historical story for children or to lead into an art and craft activity

• Teachers can use this Iron Age jewellery collection to enhance learning about ancient cultures. The set includes six items: a gem ring, gem cross pendant, interlaced cross circle gem pendant, twisted bracelet, Celtic cross pendant, and interlaced pendant. These artefacts provide a tangible connection to the past, sparking curiosity and engagement in the classroom.

• In Key Stage 2 history lessons, these items illustrate changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, covering Bronze Age religion, technology, and travel as well as Iron Age hill forts, tribal kingdoms, farming, art, and culture. This hands-on approach encourages children to explore historical contexts and deepens their understanding of the era.

• For Key Stage 3 art and design, the Iron Age jewellery inspires projects on the history of art and design, including the style of Celtic artists, characterised by spirals and interlacing, symbolising eternal life. These projects combine historical knowledge with artistic expression.
