Overview

The kit makes history enjoyable by enabling budding archaeologists to find exciting artefacts hidden in the sand.

This kit helps teachers bring history lessons to life with a hands-on archaeological dig experience. The detailed notes provide insights on each artefact, integrating easily into lesson plans or as standalone activities.

Supporting the Key Stage 2 curriculum, it covers changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Children explore Neolithic hunter-gatherers, Bronze Age religion, technology, and travel, and Iron Age hill forts, farming, art, and culture using artefacts like flint arrowheads and Iron Age brooches.
The kit also extends children’s knowledge of British history beyond 1066 with artefacts like mammoth tooth pendants and horn needles. Note: Sand is not included and must be sourced separately.
