Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Hands-On Learning: This tile pack encourages children to physically manipulate tiles for creating and debugging programs, enhancing their programming skills through tactile interaction.
Logical Reasoning: Supports the development of logical reasoning skills. Children use the tiles to predict the behaviour of simple programs, reinforcing their understanding of cause and effect in programming.
Problem Solving: Encourages problem-solving by helping children break down tasks into smaller parts. This approach aids in designing, writing, and debugging programs that accomplish specific goals.
Curriculum Support: Aligns with Key Stage 1 and 2 computing curriculum aims. The tiles assist in teaching programming concepts, supporting both basic and advanced learning objectives.
Simple Program Creation: Facilitates the creation and debugging of simple programs in Key Stage 1 computing. Children learn to use logical reasoning to predict program outcomes, aligning with curriculum aims.

TTS Tactile Reader Pro – Standard Tile Pack

Enhance programming lessons with this standard tile pack for the Tactile Reader Pro.

Overview

Facilitate hands-on learning in computing with this tile pack, which helps children to create and debug simple programs effectively.

The TTS Tactile Reader Pro Tile Pack addresses the need for interactive and practical computing lessons in the classroom. By promoting hands-on learning, it helps children create and debug simple programs, enhancing engagement and comprehension in programming.
The tiles feature directional commands representing the following movements, forwards, backwards, left (90°) and right (90°). A pause command is also included. Ideal if you are looking to replace some of the tiles or just want to have a larger selection.
This set can be used with the TTS Tactile Reader Pro to programme Loti-Bot, Blue-Bot and the Rugged Robot.

In Key Stage 1, the tile pack supports the development of logical reasoning and program prediction skills. It enables children to design, write, and debug programs to reach specific goals, improving their ability to solve problems by breaking tasks into smaller parts.
For Key Stage 2, the tiles introduce more advanced programming concepts, assisting children in designing and simulating physical systems. This promotes problem-solving through decomposition, aligning seamlessly with curriculum objectives and proving to be an invaluable classroom asset.
Pack of 25 tiles.
