Transport Counters

A tactile manipulative, ideal for the learning of counting and number concepts.

Overview

Soft rubber counters designed for sorting, counting, and imaginative play, featuring familiar transport methods from boats to trains.

Transport Counters offer tactile and engaging resources for teaching key number concepts, critical in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 curriculum. This set comprises 72 soft rubber counters, depicting six types of vehicles in a range of six colours, complete with an activity guide and storage tub. These materials make learning dynamic and organised.

The counters are perfectly aligned with Year 1 and Year 2 Maths curriculum, turning abstract number concepts tangible. They play a crucial role in teaching comparison (‘more than’, ‘less than’, and ‘equal to’), identifying one more or one less, and encouraging counting in multiples of twos, fives, and tens. For Year 2 students, the counters further assist in the progressive understanding of number representation and estimation.
The counters not only adhere to strict curriculum guidelines but also create a stimulating learning environment that promotes deeper engagement with mathematical concepts through hands-on experience.
